Table for Two helps you find hard-to-book restaurants and alerts you when a table opens up. We collect the least we can to do that, we don't sell your data, and we don't run ads. Here's exactly what happens.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you give it to us: to sign in (we send a one-time magic link, no passwords), to send the reservation alerts you ask for, and optionally to notify you when we launch in a city or add a restaurant you requested.
- Approximate location — only if your browser prompts you and you allow it. We use it once to show you the nearest covered city. If you're outside our coverage, the coordinates may be stored alongside your city request so we know where to expand. You can decline, and the site still works.
- Your watchlist and requests — the restaurants and cities you choose to watch or request, so we can match openings and prioritize new cities.
- Basic technical data — standard server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) kept by our hosting and infrastructure providers for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To send the alerts, sign-in links, and updates you request.
- To operate and improve the service and decide which cities to add.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell or rent your personal data, share it with data brokers, or use it for third-party advertising.
Who processes your data
We use a small set of reputable providers strictly to run the service:
- Supabase — database and authentication (stores your email, watchlists, and requests).
- Resend — delivers our emails (alerts and sign-in links).
- GitHub Pages & Cloudflare — website hosting, DNS, and email routing.
- Map tiles (CARTO / OpenStreetMap) — render the map view.
- A few open-source libraries load from public CDNs (jsDelivr, unpkg, esm.sh) to display the site.
Cookies & local storage
We store a few items in your browser's local storage — your theme choice, your selected city, and your sign-in session. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices
- Remove any watch at any time from "My alerts," which stops those alerts.
- Email us to delete your account and associated data entirely.
- Decline the location prompt — nothing location-based is collected if you do.
- Unsubscribe links are included in our emails.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide alerts. Request deletion any time and we'll remove it, except where we must retain something to comply with law.
Children
Table for Two is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
